I went to Western Governors University online from 2005-2009. They were the best value in an educational experience and the most affordable competency based grading university and the finest opportunity that I have had to grow more intellegent that I have known in my time. They were very nice about student loans for school based projects.

A. Write an essay to a prospective employer in which you describe something you have learned or want to learn. Then, explain whether you believe self-directed education or a formal program conducted at a college campus would better facilitate your learning and give at least two reasons why that method would be preferred. B. Revise the first two paragraphs of your essay by addressing your comments to a high school senior who is considering higher education and its alternatives.

Grading Note

[Graded by XXXXX- 10/14/2008]m=3;r=2;p=3 The beginning is relevant and support is appropriate; however, ideas could be more effectively formatted and paragraphed. The revision is appropriate.

To Whom It May Concern,
I was once employed by Outdoor World a camping resort chain on the East Coast of the United States. The fifteen resorts now owned by Outdoor World are Circle M, Lake and Shore, Gettysburg, Timothy Lake, Scot Run, Williamsburg, Sturbridge, Cape Cod, Moody Beach, Orlando, Sea Pines, Harbor View Resort and Marina, Pennsylvania Dutch Country, Lake Gaston, and Pine Knob Country. I worked in the telemarketing room. The lead programs were exceptionally well devised by the management. The seal on one of the lead types was a Superman S looking inking with a slit in it that made it look like an A. There were also leads that looked like a key. The survey slips that people filled out at events did not contain fishing as an interest. There were Blazer contests; camera and grandfather clock gifts, $25,000 cash prize drawings and courteous tours of all of the resorts, and a Tree Tops townhouse timeshare. We had a pitch with a blank for each.
We started in a loft above the tennis courts at Fernwood Resort in Bushkill Pennsylvania and the new building was built across the street. Walter Peter Ahnert was the President. He gave speeches at the sales rallys on the indoor tennis courts and in the early days the telemarketers would watch from the loft. Timothy Lake was the nearby resort and Peter lived on the Fernwood side of the road and that became Timothy Lake North in the Private Access website http://www.campoutdoorworld.com and I lived more like Timothy Lake South. I would like to apply for a job at Thousand Trails in Bellevue Washington to relive those jokes, friends, food and spiffs. There were Ageless Leads, Charities, and New York Insurance Leads. There was a NEC real to real computer room, desktop autodial computers and a microfilming room. On the conference room wall there was an ariel photo-blueprint of Circle M ranch twice. There was a map of Saw Creek as you entered the building. I liked working in a corporate environment. I hope that you will allow me to work for you given my Outdoor World experience. Thank you!

Sincerely,
John Egidio Smothergill

Dear Higher Education Student,

Essay (Human Graded)

Stem

Some members of the United States Congress propose that all able men and women, when they turn 18, participate in a National Service Program for two years. The men and women participating in the Program would work full-time in hospitals, day-care centers, homes for the elderly, community centers, public schools, the armed forces, parks, or on environmental projects. Write an essay in which you argue for or against this proposal. Support your position with relevant grounds and evidence.

Grading Note

[Graded by XXXXXX- 10/14/2008]m=3;r=2;p=3 The introduction is relevant and support relates; however, ideas would benefit from more effective essay formatting and paragraph development.

Members of the United States Congress,
As a young citizen of concerted beliefs in my first amendment rights, I am delighted to reveal my waiver from the National Service Program. Working in such a capacity for the United States of America is not in my ambitions at this time. I intend to attend a large university to pursue goals that have nothing to do with United States Congress'' belief that the National Service Program would help to mold me into a better citizen which in retrospect is good for the economy. My acting nature aspires me to esoteric domains. With extraordinary circumstances as they are dealt by god, no government should hold me back from achieving an even higher goal of a personal nature. My religious beliefs are consternation of principals with my own standards. I only understand that a unit of love is found everywhere, and although reluctant to join you in the National Service Program, I believe that I can and will find it. My sickness does not dilate my eyes and you would agree I''m sure that when I return no matter if I have left or not that I will be greatly esteemed. These stories of ambivalence run deeply occult yet approvable. Many a just minor ascended to their highest glories beyond the transparencies of a National Service like program. Helpers that cannot exceed their own expectations become pensive. Not every great experiment has satisfied the government''s whim to become instantaneously deemed worthwhile. I can go further to futures of my own accord. I do not need to be peaned into a serving dish to know to serve. And what of the insurances needed to vice delegate an unnatural or the unwilling. Although it may seem derogatory and insubordinate the attention to the first does not constitute character development or a candid valor. Notwithstanding genetics all descents are a kinship to the last thing done before the mighty made. Delighting in the fortified soul and spirit only serves to carry us all to our senses of reality and National Service Programs do not teach that many realities are weekly curtailed. What gait does it improve for me if I am absent without leave and besmirched? No I do not wish to interject solitude but I wish to disembark the National Service Program for my own good. Thank you for hearing my case.

Sincerely,
John Egidio Smothergill
